Supermom? Not me!

On Thursday morning, my spoiled-rotten little five-year-old was sassing me. It was one of those moments where you look at your kid and wonder, what did I do wrong? Obviously something or my child wouldn't be talking to me like that.

Then I read this blog post from The Legacy of Home, a great blog I read regularly.

It's one of those blogs that makes you -- or at least me -- want to be better at my job as a mom, a homemaker, a wife. I'm sure there are a lot of things the author, Mrs. White, doesn't share, but the things she does share really make me think, like this particular post.

This is the kind of mom I want to be. One who has it all under control, and uses every moment of the day to do something productive. Everything is a teaching moment. And as a result, the kids learn a lot of great life skills.

I don't know. Something in me tells me this woman must have moments -- or must have had moments when her kids were younger -- when her house was an absolute wreck. When she lost it and screamed at her kids. When her kids talked back and told her they hated her.

Or maybe not. Maybe she's as perfect as she sounds.

Frankly, I'll never know, because it's the internet and you only get to see as much as people choose to show you.

But anyway, her posts are great and they do inspire me want to be better at my job, and my life.

Check out The Legacy of Home and see for yourself.

I would love to be the mom who has it all under control too, but you know what is interesting? The fact that I blog about my pathetic attempts at being a good mother are the ones that people really appreciate. I think that most people expect to be a perfect parent and wonder what went wrong when they realize it is impossible.

Anyway, you are obviously a fantastic mom...you have a great blog, and I loved your post on Tina's site!
