So, remember a while back when I posed a one-bag-of-garbage-a-week challenge to myself? Well, we're still in the two-bag zone. I'm trying to think of ways to cut down on our landfill impact. Haven't taken the step to switch to cloth diapers yet. Mainly, the cost is deterring me.
I did do something to cut down on our trash today, though. I bought some cloth napkins at Big Lots. I realized the other day just how many napkins we go through at each meal, especially Logan. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's wiping his hands and stuff, but an awful lot of trees are dying to keep up with the napkin habit. When we were on vacation, though, we went somewhere that had cloth napkins and the thought came to me that it might cut down on my family's environmental impact if I got some for us to use.
Anyway, it's one small step. Hopefully it helps.
