Neither of my boys were big spitter-uppers. I think I could count on one hand the number of times Jordan spit up, seriously. Logan, probably two hands. I really never had to deal with the stuff. (Thank goodness. Spit-up and barf gross me out way more than poop.)
Logan, at almost five years of age, has only REALLY thrown up a couple times. Once or twice, he's had a cold and when he went to bed he'd choke on some snot and kind of gag a little, but the only real vomiting he's done is the four or five times that occurred during the week he had a stomach bug right after Jordan was born.
And Jordan, who's a year and a month old (HEY! How did that extra month sneak in there already?!) has never even really been sick except for a mild ear infection he got over Christmas.
Well, yesterday afternoon and evening he was pretty fussy. At dinner, he was chugging milk like crazy. Then he started crying, so I reached over and pulled him out of his high chair and WOW! He projectile vomited ALL OVER ME and the table and floor. My clothes were soaked. It was so gross. (And you should have seen my husband JUMP!)
The amazing thing, as soon as he threw up, he was perfectly happy. He popped his paci back in his mouth and sat there happy as can be while I had to sit there with my eyes closed for a few minutes fighting back the urge to let go myself. Ugh.
Anyway, we went right to the shower and my wonderful hubby cleaned up the mess. Logan was just in awe, I think.
I don't know if Jordan is sick. He hasn't shown any signs of throwing up anymore, but he has had a bad, bad sleep night. He would not go to bed for anything. Finally at around 10 I laid down on the couch with him. He kind of was wriggling around like he couldn't get comfortable, so I wonder if his tummy was still upset. He fell asleep, though, and around 1 a.m. I put him in his bed and went to bed myself. I got a whopping two hours of sleep before he started crying again. Hubby and I tried to get him back to sleep, and I even nursed him, but nothing worked until I brought him to our bed. He fell back asleep and I put him back in his bed.
I couldn't go back to sleep because Hubby left this morning to go down south to be the best man in his friend's wedding (the guy who was OUR best man), so I'm on my own for a few days. This should be fun! Especially since Hubby's been the only one who has been able to get Jordan to sleep lately.
My mom had surgery yesterday to have part of her thyroid removed, so I've been a nervous wreck about that. I'm always nervous when Hubby travels. I guess what I'm saying is, please pardon me if I'm tired, nervous and whiny the next few days!
Who knows. Maybe it won't be as bad as I think it will be.
Have a great day!
Oh, don't they grow so fast! I feel like I just had Riley and now he is approaching 1 yr in June.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone stays healthy why the hubster is away. And I hope your mom's feeling better soon. I would be nervous as well.
