Curing cabin fever

Aside from the occasional GORGEOUS sunny day, this time of year in Michigan can be kind of dreary. By this point, we've been dealing with winter for a few months and the novelty has worn off. The snow isn't really all that pretty anymore. It's slushy and dirty. The sky is gray gray gray and the cold air somehow feels more chilly.

We're ready for spring!

In Michigan, you see people out and about in shorts once temps reach about 50. We cruise with our car windows down, open the windows in our homes, wash the car, whatever. It's funny, because people I know who can't stand to keep their houses below 70 degrees in the winter will be outside in shorts and T-shirts.

It's all because of cabin fever. I know I have it. I'm tired of being cooped up indoors. Yes, we still go outside, but it takes an awful lot of bundling and preparation, and it's not that much fun for poor Jordan, who can't really move in his snow suit.

So, on Friday when Hubby got home from work, I said something about having cabin fever, and mentioned I'd like to GO somewhere, like the Bavarian Inn or just DO something. On Saturday afternoon, he got home from the gym and said, "You know what? Let's do it. Let's go to the Bavarian Inn for the night."

(I've mentioned it before, but the Bavarian Inn is a hotel in a little town called Frankenmuth. It's got 5 pools, 3 hot tubs, a large gaming area for kids and an indoor mini golf. It's lots of fun. Click here to see.)

So, we did! We swam and played games and had pizza and I think the kids had a lot of fun. It tired us all out, but at least we got out of the house and had some fun for a night.
